아프리카 해안에서 125킬로미터 떨어진 대서양의 카나리 제도의 섬 '란자로테'에는 18세기 화산폭발로 인한 용암과 화산재로 뒤 덮힌 섬의 모습이 마치 달 표면의 지형을 옮겨 놓은 듯 한 듯한 광경이다.(Lunar Landscape)
