베인 아스키발(럼섬)
* 베인아스키발은 스코트랜드의 아름다운 작은 섬인 럼섬에서 가장 높은 산(높이 812m)이다.
* Rum is among the most beautiful; it is also home to one of the largest Manx shearwater breeding colonies in the world. Over 60,000 pairs make the annual migration from the waters off Brazil to the upper reaches of the island's loftier summits, such as Beinn Askival, a volcanic fragment that stands 2,664 feet (812 meter) sparkling sea below. Askival's layered basaltic rocks are famed as evidence of a classic “open”magma chamber, from which successive flows of magma formed numerous rock types.The layers are particularly well exposed on Beinn Askival and its sister peak Beinn Hallival, providing a natural laboratory for geologists as they scramble among the shearwaters.
