* 북 아메리카 남서부의 푸에블로 문명과 북부 멕시코, 중앙아메리카의 보다 발전된 문명간 교역과 문화교류에 중요한 역할을 수행하였으며 14-15세기 최고절정을 구가하였으며 스페인 정복시기에 파괴됨.
 
* Paquimé, Casas Grandes, which reached its apogee in the 14th and 15th centuries, played a key role in trade and cultural contacts between the Pueblo culture of the south-western United States and northern Mexico and the more advanced civilizations of Mesoamerica. The extensive remains, only part of which have been excavated, are clear evidence of the vitality of a culture which was perfectly adapted to its physical and economic environment, but which suddenly vanished at the time of the Spanish Conquest.

* 지리학적, 기후적 조건이 열악한 자연환경에 재래식 도시 디자인을 적용한 북부 스칸디나비아 지역의 전통적 교회 타운. 

* Gammelstad, at the head of the Gulf of Bothnia, is the best-preserved example of a 'church village', a unique kind of village formerly found throughout northern Scandinavia. The 424 wooden houses, huddled round the early 15th-century stone church, were used only on Sundays and at religious festivals to house worshippers from the surrounding countryside who could not return home the same day because of the distance and difficult travelling conditions.
