산티아고 로타성 (San Pedro de la Roca Castle, Santiago de Cuba )
ㅇ 17세기 쿠바의 산티아고 항구를 보호하기 위하여 세워진 일련의 요새로 이탈리아 및 르네상스 시대의 건축원리에 기초하여 스페니시-아메리카 군사건축의 가장 완전하고 잘 보존된 대표적 사례임.
ㅇThe origins of the fortress date back to 1590 when the Spanish King Philip II ordered its construction. Expanded in 1638 by the town governor Pedro de la Roca and designed by the Italian military engineer Juan Bautista Antonelli, it was called Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca del Morro. The fortress was part of the defensive system of the important port town of Santiago de Cuba, and it was reconstructed and expanded several times until the end of the 19th century.

the canyon in the southwestern United States
미국 남서부 애리조나 주의 북부, 동에서 서로 흐르는 콜로라도 강의 양강변(남쪽, 북쪽) 위치한다. 그랜드 캐니언의 기원은 지금으로부터 약 7000만 년 전, 이 일대를 포함한 넓은 지역이 지구의 지각 변동에 의해 카이밥 융기를 형성한 데서 시작된다.
4000만 년 전, 콜로라도 강에 의한 침식이 진행되어 약 200만 년 전쯤에 현재와 같은 모습이 되었다. 지금도 침식은 진행되고 있다. 평균 깊이는 약 1200 m, 길이는 446 km, 폭은 6 km에서 최대 29 km에 이른다. 가장 깊은 곳은 1.8 km이다.
